As a port worker at Hallands Hamnar, a diverse and stimulating job awaits you. Every day offers new tasks – from monitoring traffic in the port to loading ships with everything from steel sheets to sawn timber.

In the role of a port worker, your main task is to load and unload goods, either from train or truck to a ship or vice versa. Additionally, we have warehouses for various types of goods, where some cargo needs to be stuffed into containers while others are prepared for pickup. It is your responsibility to safely and efficiently move these goods using specially designed vehicles and machinery. Experience operating different machines, such as forklifts or cranes, is therefore valuable. Equally important is your ability to cooperate and communicate with colleagues.

If you are interested in operating machinery, you will have the opportunity to train as you work in the port. From the forklift, which is the smallest machine, to the link crane, which is the largest. In the role of a machine operator, it may also be your task to perform maintenance work and report any technical issues to the responsible staff. Following regulations and guidelines for safety and the environment is an integral part of your daily work.
